Coastal Clean Co. didn't start with a business plan — it started with a mop and a lot of repeat requests. Six years ago, Sarah Tanner was cleaning homes for friends and family who kept asking her to come back. What started as a favor turned into a reputation, and that reputation turned into a business. Sarah launched Coastal Clean Co. because she believed Wilmington deserved a cleaning service that actually cared — one where the standard was set by someone who would be embarrassed by anything less than excellent.

Her standard is simple: she cleans every home like it's her own mother's house. Thoroughness isn't optional — it's non-negotiable. Sarah personally trains every team member who joins Coastal Clean Co., walking through her own checklist room by room, explaining not just what to clean but why certain details matter and how a homeowner notices the difference between a job done and a job done right. She does regular quality checks and stays personally involved in client relationships, especially for recurring clients who have trusted her team with their home week after week.

Sarah was born and raised right here in Wilmington — she went to school here, raised her kids here, and has no intention of leaving. She sponsors a local youth soccer team because she believes in giving back to the community that gave her a chance. When she hires, she hires local and pays a living wage, because she knows what it means to work hard for every dollar.
